The Syracuse University Club Tennis team is a fun and competitive club sport open to experienced tennis players who enjoy tennis! The team currently has approximately 45 members and is eager to add new members passionate about tennis.
Syracuse Club Tennis competes in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Eastern Tennis on Campus series and aims to win sectionals this upcoming year to make it to the USTA Tennis on Campus National Championship. The team plays opponents all throughout Upstate New York such as Cornell University, Binghamton University, Colgate University and University at Buffalo, in addition to competing in various invitational tournaments such as the Albany and Rochester invitationals.
Club Tennis aims to foster an environment of fun, collaboration and improvement. Practices and team events are designed to help club members bond together, improve their abilities and enjoy tennis above all else.
To become a member of the Syracuse University Club Tennis team, you must be an enrolled student at Syracuse University or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) and pay the $75 membership fee each semester, which covers the cost of court time, social events, team uniforms and travel costs.
If you enjoy tennis and are looking to join a collective team atmosphere, Club Tennis would be happy to have you! Be alert for the team's yearly tryout sometime at the beginning of the fall semester via the Club Sports Fair or the team's Instagram! As a member, it is expected that you attend many—if not all—team practices and events. Practices are held 2-3 times per week and the team schedules various social events throughout the semester.
