LEARN MORE ABOUT CLUB WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS

The Syracuse University Club Women's Gymnastics team has been operational since 1998. The team offers competitive and noncompetitive options so gymnasts of any skill level are welcome to join!

The competitive team competes at USA Gymnastics (USAG) level 8, but those that are interested in competing do not have to meet all of the level requirements in order to join the competitive team. There is also a noncompetitive team for those looking for less of a commitment. The competitive team competes in meets throughout the school year (usually one in the fall semester and 3-4 in the spring semester) both locally and nationally, attending National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC) Nationals every year.

Club Women's Gymnastics has around 40 members, with half on the competitive team and half on the noncompetitive team. The club hosts four practices a week, but attendance is flexible. Members typically attend practices 2-3 times each week. Practices are hosted off-campus at Westside Gymnastics School (about a 10-minute drive from campus), and there is a carpool system in place so nobody has to worry about transportation to or from the gym. The owner of the gym also frequently helps coach the team and travels with the team to many of their meets.

To become a member of the Club Women's Gymnastics team, students must be enrolled at Syracuse University or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). Dues for the competitive team are $300 for the entire year ($150 per semester), and dues for the noncompetitive team are $150 for the entire year ($75 per semester). These fees cover expenses like gas for carpooling, meet fees and new equipment.
