Brian Christe stands among the early pioneers of Syracuse University Men’s Hockey, contributing during the program’s formative years as a member of the Syracuse University Hockey Association from 1963 to 1965. A left wing forward, Christe quickly established himself as a prolific scorer, playing on the dominant MacLeod–Miller–Christe line that accounted for more than half of the team’s goals during the 1963–1964 season. Known for his offensive instincts, he recorded multiple multi-goal performances, including a standout hat trick against Hobart, and consistently proved himself as one of the league’s top offensive threats.

Despite limited historical records from that era, Christe’s impact is undeniable. He was credited with at least 34 points during the season, though reports suggest his total may have reached as high as 57, placing him among the Finger Lakes Collegiate Hockey League’s top scorers. His early contributions helped lay the foundation for the program’s future success. Though much about his career remains to be uncovered, his performance and role in the program’s early development make him a deserving member of the Syracuse University Men’s Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
