Bill Diamond was a dynamic defenseman and influential leader for Syracuse University Men’s Hockey, serving as team captain and president during a period of significant transition. Known for his offensive-minded style of play, he also played a critical role in guiding the program through coaching changes and into a new era, including the move to Tennity Ice Pavilion. He notably scored the first goal in the new facility, marking a historic moment for the program.

After graduating, Diamond pursued a career in education and coaching, returning to the prep school level where he has made a lasting impact as both a teacher and hockey coach. Currently a department chair at Kimball Union Academy, he continues to mentor student-athletes while remaining deeply connected to the Syracuse hockey community through his contributions to its history and legacy.

Bill was also honored with the Van Winkle Award in 2024.
