Syracuse Men's Hockey Hall of Fame
Juan de la Rocha, known as a “true hockey guy,” brought passion, intensity, and leadership to Syracuse University Men’s Hockey throughout his collegiate career. A standout athlete from Schenectady, New York, de la Rocha excelled in multiple sports but made his greatest impact on the ice as a forward. At Syracuse, he played on a highly productive line with fellow Hall of Famers and emerged as a consistent scoring leader, earning All-Star recognition and serving as both assistant captain and team captain.
Off the ice, de la Rocha was instrumental in building team culture, including helping establish the original “Hockey House,” a cornerstone of team camaraderie. After graduating, he dedicated his career to coaching and education, becoming one of the most successful high school hockey coaches in New York State. With hundreds of career wins, multiple championships, and numerous Coach of the Year honors, de la Rocha has continued to shape the game and mentor young athletes. His lifelong commitment to hockey makes him a deserving inductee into the Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
