Brian Fitzgerald was one of the original members of the Syracuse University Hockey Association and a foundational figure in the program’s earliest years. A Syracuse native, he developed his game under the guidance of his father and quickly became a key contributor as a forward and team leader. Known for his speed and offensive ability, he played on the first line and scored the overtime game-winning goal in one of the program’s earliest home games. Fitzgerald also served as team captain and a club officer, helping guide the team both on and off the ice.

Beyond his playing career, Fitzgerald was a strong advocate for the growth of the program, working to secure funding, recognition, and future facilities for Syracuse hockey. After graduation, he attended Fordham Law School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps before building a legal career in Colorado. His leadership, dedication, and role as a pioneer of the program make him a lasting figure in Syracuse hockey history.
